How Dapsone Works

Dapsone acts by blocking the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid in bacteria, which stops bacterial growth. In addition to its antibacterial action, Dapsone has anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful for treating inflammatory skin diseases, including dermatitis herpetiformis and some off-label uses in dermatology, such as acne and certain types of vasculitis.
