Elidel cream

Elidel Cream (Pimecrolimus 1%) is a prescription topical medication used to treat mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema), particularly when traditional corticosteroid treatments are unsuitable or undesirable. It provides a non-steroidal option that effectively reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and skin thickening caused by eczema, making it ideal for long-term management.

How Elidel Works:
The active ingredient, pimecrolimus, is an immunomodulator that blocks the activity of T-cells and inflammatory cytokines, which drive the immune response seen in eczema. By calming this immune overactivity, Elidel helps restore the skin’s barrier function and reduces flare-ups, without the risk of skin thinning (atrophy) that is associated with long-term steroid use.
