Lumigan Eye Drop

Lumigan Eye Drops (Bimatoprost 0.03%) are a prescription ophthalmic solution used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. By lowering eye pressure, Lumigan helps prevent optic nerve damage, which can lead to vision loss if untreated.

Besides its primary use, Lumigan is also widely known for its off-label cosmetic use in promoting longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes (though formulations like Latisse are FDA-approved specifically for that purpose).

How Lumigan Works

Lumigan contains bimatoprost, a prostaglandin analog that increases the outflow of aqueous humor (fluid) from the eye, thereby lowering intraocular pressure. Keeping eye pressure under control is essential for preventing the progression of glaucoma and safeguarding long-term vision.
