Tersin

Tersin Injection contains Terlipressin, a synthetic vasopressin analogue used primarily in emergency settings to control bleeding esophageal varices in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension. This life-threatening condition occurs when dilated veins in the esophagus rupture, leading to massive gastrointestinal bleeding.

Terlipressin works by constricting blood vessels (vasoconstriction) in the splanchnic (abdominal) circulation, reducing portal venous pressure and decreasing blood flow to the varices, effectively controlling bleeding.
